World Of Warcraft Dungeons: A How to Guide

In the game World of Warcraft, one of the most challenging part of the game is working together to complete a dungeon. I will teach you what the group is made up of, and how you can work together to beat it.

An essential part of the group is the tank. The tank is usually a warrior, paladin, druid in bear form that absorbs all the damage taken by the monster. The job of the tank is to create “threat” so the monster focuses and continuously attacks the tank. The tank must have high armor and surplus amount of health and defense in order to be great.

The other essential part of the group is the healer. The healer, usually a holy spec paladin, resto druid, resto shaman, priest, will heal the tank as he takes damage. Note that they will also heal the DPS if they run low on health. Their job is to keep the group alive. They should be stacked up on mana and +healing items.

The rest of the classes are what we call DPS. They deal the damage to the monsters that the tank is creating threat from. They should be either stacked up on AP (attack power) if they’re melee DPS, and spell damage if they’re a spell caster DPS.

The basic skeleton of the group is what I have described above. Certain class healers are better for certain instances, and certain class of tank is better for a specific instance, so research what’s best for the group. Also note that there are several different types of DPS. It’s good to have at least 1 melee DPS, 1 Crowd Control DPS, and a spell caster. This is not always the case, but it’s generally good to have this. Like I said above, certain classes are a must for certain instances. You can look up instance guides on websites such as wowwiki.

Before every boss fight, at least one experienced member of the group should explain what special powers and attacks the boss will use, and how the fight will go. You should than plan what each person will do. Make sure everyone in the group knows what they’re doing before the fight starts. If you start the fight without members knowing what to expect, it will 99% of the time result in a wipe, and you’ll have to start all over again with the boss. Make sure you bring lots of food and water in your bag if you don’t have a mage. Having almost 100% armor is essential in groups as well as potions for the boss fights. Work together as a group; that’s what will help you beat the instance.
